ITQ is a new flexible user of technology qualification and training package that can be tailored to ensure that learners are trained in the skills that they need.

Candidates can build a programme chosen from a range of units (Units of Competence) which can be studied at Level 1, 2 or 3. There is a mandatory unit at each level and all units are allocated a points value. The minimum total value to reach a full award is:

Level 1 – 40 points
Level 2 – 100 points
Level 3 – 180 points

Within certain rules, candidates can select optional units from different levels to achieve their minimum total. In addition units can be designed to assess competence with specialist or bespoke software packages and a sector specific unit, for example, Health and Safety can be included in this award. The full range of units is shown below.

Assessment Candidates build a portfolio of evidence, based on the work task that they undertake, demonstrating their competence in relation to the standards of the award. A full range of assessment methods is used, including observation, expert witness testimony, product evidence and professional discussion.
